The Mandate of Heaven

The “Big F-ugly” Coming Our Way

In ancient China, even before Confucius, the Chinese believed in a concept known as "The Mandate of Heaven!" It meant they believed that each new Dynasty that came along had the sanction of heaven as they understood it, to restore order and rule the nation so long as they did what was right by ruling effectively and efficiently. It also meant that when it became abundantly clear to enough people that the rulers were disobeying heaven, typically signaled by plagues, floods, famines, earthquakes and natural disasters, but it could also be triggered by man-made disasters such as economic depressions or military losses or any combination of the things previously mentioned. When these conditions evolved and formed into a "perfect storm," it became both the right and arguably, the duty of the people to rise up and overthrow their rulers.

What this means is that even from ancient times, it was understood that it was the right of the people to be sovereign rulers over themselves. This is a fundamental human right. Confucius taught this and for the last two-and-a-half millennia, all across the Far East, Confucian based societies still remember the principle of the Mandate of Heaven. It's why Mao, during his reign of terror known as the "Cultural Revolution" tried, and thankfully failed, to erase Confucius from China's history and Confucianism from the Chinese collective consciousness. He, being an arch-typical tyrant responsible for all sorts of famines and economic disasters, that he hated the idea that the people might, rightfully so, rise up and overthrow him.

I would also argue that Western Civilization is currently in the throws of it's own cultural revolution! Woke Cancel culture mobs, like Mao's Red Guards are going around and around shouting down their opposition with their own version of Mao's “Four Olds” (old ideas, old culture, old customs and old habits). Making matters worse is the ideas, culture, customs and habits they're attacking today are ever changing and so nebulous that sometimes even their own "true believers" are being caught up in the morass and are getting cancelled for not being "Woke" enough for the satisfaction of the zealots. This is why, in their never ending quest for “idiot-illogical” (Ideological) purity, the left always ends up eating their own.

My point with referring to China so much in this post is that I believe the only difference between your average American and your average Chinese or average anyone from anywhere else in the world is that America’s forefathers wrote this principle down and enshrined it in our foundational governing documents, specifically in the Declaration of Independence and also the Second Amendment. That governments all over the world are becoming ever more tyrannical in nature, under the guise of protecting us from a virus and ourselves, is plain as day. That a majority of those countries don’t recognize the fundamental human right to individual sovereignty is a real problem.

By the way, in light of the pandemic, all the train derailments and chemical spills poisoning the land, food processing plants that are being mysteriously destroyed, the floods in California and now with all of bank failures, it’s not much of a stretch to come to the conclusion that America’s leadership has lost their Mandate of Heaven. But, I would argue that this is NOT just an American “thingy.” Think of all the wars and rumors of wars from around the globe and all of the natural disasters taking place in diverse places. Arguably, this is a global phenomenon and although China is on the rise and on the verge of replacing the US as the world’s largest economy and potential global hegemon, they are not without their own series of crises to deal with. But, not wanting to put a total grunge on everyone’s cool with this post, on the plus side, it would appear that there’s an awakening of sorts happening. In a most excellent Substack article by Dr. Naomi Wolf (linked Here), a bit long but, worth the read because she is deeply sincere and she brings the receipts to support her ideas, she apologizes for having been deceived. For years she bought the lies that her self appointed betters (specifically the “progressives” of whom she considered herself a card carrying member in good standing) were telling her. Thanks to the release of the Jan 6^th tapes of the real goings on at our nation’s capitol, her eyes have been opened. I think a lot of other people’s eyes are being opened as well. It’s just that our formerly Fourth Estate of the Republic with the Constitutional Mandate to Speak Truth to Power have been fundamentally transformed into a subversive Fifth Column and are waging war against the people in a new front in the war on truth are doing all they can to hide that little bit of information from all the “normies” out there!

The awakening of which I am referring to is that as Americans, our political differences are NOT left v. right nor are they Liberal ("progressive" deliberately omitted) v. Conservative or even Demagogue v. Reprobate axis as we've been conditioned to believe. Our differences are really divided along the tyranny v. liberty axis. And let me be clear, the American legacy has always been one of Liberty v. "Tyranny" (progressivism) in favor of the former over the latter. Lately, things seem to have gotten a bit reversed!

If you think about it this way, the reason why I deliberately separated Progressive from Liberal in the previous paragraph is two fold. First, the word Liberal is derived from the same root word from which we get the word Liberty. Second is that “Progressives” don’t believe in liberty! The "progressive idiot-illogical” perspective assumes, without evidence mind you, that it knows better than everyone else and thus has the duty if not the right to correct everything and everyone. They are predisposed to wanting to rule over others. Their expressed desire to right all the worlds wrongs are in reality a ruse for the urge to rule over it. Progressivism is steeped in ego and arrogance!

I believe that if there is any hope for America, it's time we get back to making our “political” arguments with our friends and neighbors along that liberty v. tyranny axis again. The big questions that remains are, what will it take for more people to wake up and how long will it be before the people have had enough to rise up and reclaim their fundamental human right to be free?

The world as we know it is largely based on what is seen. But there are the things over which we have a degree of control that we don’t see. But, even the people we think are in charge around the globe aren’t the real one’s making the decisions. For example, there’s Comrade Jo “Beijing” Bi Deng, the most recently “S-elected” leader of the USSA (dis-United Socialist States of Ameri-KKK-a) a wholly owned subsidiary of Communist China Inc. It’s relatively clear that America has been captured by Head-Mother-WEFer-in-Charge and Bond Villain wannabe, Klaus Schwab’s World Economic Forum (WEF) and Winnie Xi “Pooh-Bear” Jinping’s CCP. But again, that level is what those who are willing to open their eyes can see.

But there’s an even deeper level of the unseen that we either just don’t or for a variety of selfish reasons we refuse to see! Of course I’m talking about the spiritual realm. I hold to a Biblical Christian World view and as such, I believe that there are unseen forces that are pulling the strings of those supposedly in charge of our world from behind the scenes that we simply cannot see! We need to remember.

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12, ESV).

So what are mere mortals like you and me to do? Well, instead of grabbing your pitchforks to go storm the castle like many are wanting to do, instead, I think a more biblical approach would be to humble ourselves, repent of any evil we may be harboring in our lives, get right with God and pray! What should we pray for? Some would say revival and that’s not a bad thing IMHO. But first and foremost, I think we ought to pray for our leaders and those in positions of authority that they might repent of the evil they are committing against their own people. Further, that they might be saved too.
