Is it futile to have confidence and faith in America? Here are some words from Isaiah regarding reliance on Egypt.. Let's read this: (Isaiah 30:1-7 RSV)
“Ah, stubborn children,” declares the Lord, “who carry out a plan, but not mine, and who make an alliance, but not of my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin; who set out to go down to Egypt, without asking for my direction, to take refuge in the protection of Pharaoh and to seek shelter in the shadow of Egypt! Therefore shall the protection of Pharaoh turn to your shame, and the shelter in the shadow of Egypt to your humiliation. For though his officials are at Zoan and his envoys reach Hanes, everyone comes to shame through a people that cannot profit them, that brings neither help nor profit, but shame and disgrace.”
An oracle on the beasts of the Negeb. Through a land of trouble and anguish, from where come the lioness and the lion, the adder and the flying fiery serpent, they carry their riches on the backs of donkeys, and their treasures on the humps of camels, to a people that cannot profit them. Egypt's help is worthless and empty; therefore I have called her “Rahab who sits still.”
The way I see it, people today are NOT looking to God for our strength. We're looking to Egypt! We’re looking to the strength of pharaoh and the strength of what the Egyptians can do to be our strength. The problem with that is, if we lean on the splintered Rod of pharaoh and what we had in Egypt, that splintered Rod is going to crack and guess what, it's gonna hurt. I hope every one of you understands that without repentance, we are not entitled to anything, let alone success here in our in our own country. In a nutshell, if there ever was an exact modern parallel to the superpower of ancient Egypt at the time of Moses and the exodus, we're it. Egypt and you can add Babylon to that list, are synonymous with the United States and the modern apostate world. When we sing that song that goes: “We'll put a boot in their ass it's the American way,” When we wave the flag and we get proud, that's our trust. When times get bad, that's who we’ll trust to support ourselves. We put our trust in the pride of America.
“Yah” (Another name for the almighty) said over and over again in his word (paraphrased), “Put your trust in me and remember that I'm the one who brought you out of Egypt.” And what did his people do?
But here’s a twist, I think that maybe we have misunderstood the situation in Egypt, particularly as it pertains to that whole bondage “thingy.” When it says that the children of Israel were in bondage, we think of the movie The Ten Commandments where they're like whipping people while they worked and how they couldn’t just pack up all their toys and move away. To be truthful, that’s NOT quite right. Slavery in Egypt at that time was more like bonded servitude. What was their bond? They were taxed. Most folks don’t know that the children of Israel had property in Egypt and, to a certain degree, they also had some “rights” in Egypt. Now to be fair, the Egyptians did start enforcing a one-child policy and then a no child policy. But the primary “burden” of the children of Israel was that they were heavily taxed. The “task Masters,” if you read the word right is really the tax guy. The tax guys were the people who enforced the laws of Egypt.
So you see, the children of Israel in the time of Moses were in a very similar situation to where we're at today in the land of the deceived and home of the depraved.
Ask yourself this, when Israel was in the desert why did they whine so much? Why would they possibly whine to want to go back to have access to all the “goodies” of Egypt again if they were really slaves? Now remember, the Egyptians made all sorts of goodies if you know what I mean. They were the great super power of that time and what they made as far as consumer goods and services was pretty good. They also had plenty of them. In Egypt, they had all the stuff they always wanted. You know, all the little dainty things and all the nice food. That’s why it was so easy for them to say that we should just go back there. This living by ourselves in the desert business sucks. That's why they struggled with that so much.
The strength of Egypt, the strength of pharaoh, the delicacies of Egypt, just like it repeats in the last days with Mystery Babylon, it lists in the book of Revelation all the stuff that Babylon was so proud of and then that all that stuff is going to be found no more. Everything is going to be gone because people in the last days are going to copy what the children of Israel did and trust in their comfort, their man-made systems and their (little “g”) god America.
Sadly, there's some that truly trust pharaoh and they still see the red white and blue for what it used to be based on old John Wayne movies and what their paw told them. I understand that because I used to be that guy. And guys like that want to build up Egypt and they want to support Egypt through think and thin and they are like “We got to support Egypt man, you know what I mean.”
Me, I'm about supporting the tribe! How about this; let's take all that everyone who wants to support Egypt all the time energy, let's take that energy and redirect it to supporting your tribe. And when I say your tribe, I mean your brothers and sisters in Christ, your brothers and sisters in yah, the most high. That's what we need to support right now. And to all you guys want to resist pharaoh? Awesome. Let's resist, and how did Israel resist Pharaoh in The Exodus? By finally following God out of Egypt. And once they were out of Egypt, God destroyed Egypt. He destroyed them and then he told us that the reason why He made Egypt great was so he could lead us out of it to destroy them and show all nations that He is the Lord.
So forgive me if I don’t get all choked up about the “Red, White and Blue” anymore or get teary eyed hearing Lee Greenwood singing “God Bless the USA or if I don’t go out and buy a “Make America Great Again” hat or T-shirt or place signs for this party or candidate for this office or that prominently on my front lawn. IMHO, we need to realign ourselves with what's really important in the light of the cosmic $#!† show that we so richly deserve that is coming our way.
BTW, while we’re at it and I’m still here, these are a few “shorts” you may want to give a look see and ask yourselves this question:
Who’s side are these people really on cause it ain’t America’s and it ain’t God’s and do I want to be on the same side with all of them when the brimstone hits the fan?
