I’ve been following Russell Brand’s YouTube channel for some time now. Not just because he’s a very funny fellow or even because I’ve been a fan of quick witted zany British humor going all the way back to the 1970’s when Monty Python was a staple of American Public Television. Brand isn’t just a lovable vagabond who acts crazy or talks out of his “arse” to get cheap laughs. He’s actually a deep thinker who does a lot of introspection about what’s goin on in our world in his search for what our proper role, as human beings, should be.
He’s been traveling down the path of spirituality for some time. In his quest for the truth, he’s travelled from what some might call new age enlightenment, or the occult, as well as calling in to question some of the practices and beliefs of the world’s traditional religions. It would appear to me, whether he’s realized it or not, as though he’s stumbled upon what Christianity was intended to be over what it’s become.
Here’s his latest Podcast on his YouTube channel that led me to think this way. I’d like everyone to take the 26 or so minutes needed to watch it and ask what you think of his spiritual journey and then pray that he discovers and embraces the truth. While you’re at it, ask yourselves the same questions and think about your own journey.
Peace out. . .
