A Casual Observation on the Apocalypse
Are We There Yet?
During the current Presidential campaign both sides have claimed that America will become a dictatorship if the other side wins. Which brings me to a question. Could CHRIST FOLLOWERS survive if America became a dictatorship?
In my humble opinion, if America survives, it will very likely become a dictatorship. Why do I say that? Well, Bible prophecy regarding the last days certainly leans that way. It tells us that all the kings of the earth will fornicate with a harlot called Mystery Babylon. Mystery Babylon is a harlot or “illegitimate” government system that controls all the world’s governments through sorcery. Now that word sorcery in the Greek language of the Septuagint is “Pharmakeia!” It’s where we get our modern word Pharmacy and Pharmaceuticals. And while many think this may not be the case, I think one could argue that global vaccine mandates that nations around the world all got in lockstep with instituting could fit that bill. Make of that what you will.
Therefore, when America becomes a dictatorship, as I believe it will, any church that does not teach what the dictator dictates, it will be closed. Any preacher who does not preach what the dictatorship demands they preach will be jailed or executed. When that happens, then the real followers of “Christ, Jesus, Yeshua or The Way” (your choice) would be forced to find another place to meet with fellow believers as “the church.” By necessity, the real church will move underground and many institutional churches will have their doors closed, or be forced to preach a false gospel. Any group or cohort of true believers would have to meet in secret if they are to meet at all.
I believe that there will be many organic house churches who will meet just as they did during the first century and the Roman persecution. They will meet in secret just as they did during the reformation and the inquisition. They will meet in secret just as they did in former Communist countries in eastern Europe during the old Soviet empire and they will meet in homes and in secret, just as they do today in Communist China.
Many of those house churches, when they were under Communism were alive with the agape of Christ and the Lord did, and still does, many signs and wonders among them. For example, during the 1950s the old Soviet Gulags were so full of CHRIST FOLLOWERS that the prisoners became evangelists and the love of the Lord spread even to the guards. There were many converts made in those prisons. I have no doubt that there are many converts being made today in China.
So, while I do not want to see the America I grew up in become a dictatorship, I think that when it does, the real church will be alive and well. It will be far more alive than the institutions we call churches today!
